FBI Surveillance Van Wifi โ€“ Is It Real or Prank?

There are literally very few people in this whole wide world that donโ€™t know about the FBI. We have heard of it in movies, TV shows, and from other people. That is to mean, the FBI is not unfamiliar to many of us. To get into the details, the FBI is an investigative department of the Department of Justice in the US. The FBI mandate is to investigate and stop crimes such as terrorism, civil rights violations, cybercrimes, and so on. You will also find that the FBI is mainly involved in investigations of serious crimes like murders.

FBI Surveillance Van Wifi - is it real or prank?

Back to the main reason why we are here, which is the FBI surveillance van wifi. I donโ€™t think anyone will even be happy and comfortable with being under the FBI surveillance. For one thing, that means you are up to no good, and thatโ€™s why they are closely watching you. The FBI agents donโ€™t just wake up one day and decide to observe someone for absolutely no reason (donโ€™t they have better things to do?). They must have concrete evidence and go through all the required procedures before starting an investigation. Thus, you donโ€™t have to worry about the FBI unless you are a criminal.

The FBI does its surveillance in various ways, and this can be on foot, in vehicles, or electronically. The electronic way involves recording device implanted on various posts nearby. Speaking of surveillance vehicles, the FBI surveillance vans have become a common thing nowadays. The one thing that basically gets the most attention is the FBI surveillance van wifi. Are you wondering what this is all about? You are certainly not alone. People know that the FBI is often sneaky when carrying out their investigations. Thatโ€™s why some of them are taking advantage of this small fact.

That aside, there has been word going around that the FBI apparently names its wifi as FBI Surveillance Van wifi. This actually begs the question, why would the FBI make themselves known when on an investigation? Is this really possible? Is it what they actually do? Well, none of us can answer any of these questions, and there isnโ€™t any source to verify the claims.

Is FBI Wifi Real?

You probably want to know where this rumor or theory started. Where did people get the idea or impression of the FBI Surveillance van wifi? Back in 2011, there was a story of a 17-year-old boy named Jared Cano who was arrested by the Tampa police for allegedly plotting to blow up his high school. The bizarre detail in the story is that two days before the boy was arrested, he reportedly posted on his Facebook page that he saw a wifi network named FBI surveillance van.

This gets us thinking, is the FBI careless enough to expose themselves in that way? Well, most of us have a hard time believing this claim. Furthermore, there was really no confirmation of it aside from what the teenage boy said. With that said, there are very many cheeky people in this world. This means that there is a high likelihood some neighbours set up a wifi network with the name FBI surveillance van. This is actually a common joke that has been happening for a long time. One day you will try to sign into a wifi network in your neighbourhood or at a coffee shop and find one with that name.

What is the truth?

Like I said earlier, there is no confirmation as to whether this is true or not. This has left room for people to speculate and even make fun of it. The truth is itโ€™s impossible for the FBI to expose itself in that manner. The FBI does all kinds of investigations but would never alert the people in the neighbourhoods under surveillance. Aside from that, they donโ€™t discuss the tools and techniques used in their investigations. Thatโ€™s why we wonโ€™t get a word from them about whether they ever use a wifi network and moreso one with an obvious name.

But remember, there is one thing that stands. This is a joke that people have created and are using to either scare others or make them laugh. Even though itโ€™s a joke, there are those who panic anytime they feel theyโ€™re under FBI surveillance. But there is really no reason to be scared when you havenโ€™t done anything wrong. Itโ€™s also a fact that government entities involved in investigations and surveillance donโ€™t broadcast their wifi identity.

When you think about it, a government entity such as the FBI deals with very sensitive information and data. In addition, they use secure VPN tunnels to mask their activities. Using wifi means there is a possibility that information can fall into the wrong hands. Avoiding wifi is among the ways used to protect critical information. Hence, the FBI is probably not using wifi in the surveillance vans.

People cannot easily identify the FBI presence. In case they really wanted to track down a specific someone, there are other ways to go about it. This makes it even more unbelievable that they have to set up a surveillance van just to locate someone. They most certainly will not reveal their wifi name too.

Is it a prank?

This is a popular prank that surfaced on the internet a few years back. If you happen to encounter this wifi name, know itโ€™s the doing of a prankster. It might be a neighbor trying to scare others so that they donโ€™t use his wifi. The truth is it can be quite scary because it makes some people have the impression of being under the FBI radar.

On the other hand, this supposedly funny joke or prank can land you into big trouble. The people who donโ€™t find the joke funny might report you and have the local authorities investigating you. So, in the end, you might get into real trouble. The advice to take home is labelling your wifi FBI surveillance van is a bad idea and gives harmful threats to others. Avoid wifi names that include secret government bureaus and agencies.
